Background

This Challenge was formed whilst recovering from a bad burst appendix, a time when I could not run, swim or do anything other than walk, so what walking challenges could I dream up - I know climb the highest point in each county of England

Great Wood Suffolk - 31 August 2010

Early start in the morning before arriving in little village of Rede. Heavy mist prevented any visual identification of landscape so resorted to notes on laptop, tomtom and even phone GPS! Eventually tracked down Elms Farm off the A147? And from here high point reputed to be between farm and radio mast. Continued on to Great Wood to be sure and foung an abundance of wild life including dozens of wild fowl, grouse I think. Found hide at edge of wood so sat in this for a while to enjoy all the nature around me. Finally returned to farm and car, to journey on to Norfolk, by this time all mist cleared and another fantastic day.
