Background

This Challenge was formed whilst recovering from a bad burst appendix, a time when I could not run, swim or do anything other than walk, so what walking challenges could I dream up - I know climb the highest point in each county of England

Ditchling Beacon - 02 July 2010

Climbed with Will and Tess on a sunny Friday afternoon/evening, went first to Jac & Jill Windmills which are privately owned but very pretty. Having found trig point went back to start point via the Chattri War Memorial where Indian soldiers that fought in WW1 alongside the Brits, were cremated prior to ashes being spread on the sea. Complete walk around lasted 3.5 hours and about 10 miles

St Boniface Down - 26 June 2010

Immense day, cycled from Warsash to Portsmouth via Ferry and Ferry to Wooten then all way to Ventnor, then finally climbed up St Boniface Down, which was a fenced area around radio masts, but luckily vandles had broken down in one spot so able to get in and to highest point. Then cycled all way back to Warsash, total of 52 miles plus hike up hill, all in nearly 30 deg heat!
